We flew to San Antonio Saturday morning for a Saturday afternoon wedding, took the VIA public bus from airport to hotel, and made it with plenty of time to spare. Woohoo. Wedding was lovely, held at the Southwest School of Art and Craft (yes, just one art and just one craft, apparently), ceremony outdoors and reception in the gorgeous chapel. It seems somehow wrong to review wedding food on this blog (or anywhere else), even if what’s said is positive, so I won’t say much. But the bite-size appetizers distributed between ceremony and reception were particularly good, especially a fried green tomato and also a cilantro crab cake. Wedding cake excellent too.
Next: Day 2 reminds us that everything is bigger in Texas, especially restaurant food.
